An Optic Fiber sleeve is a protective covering that is used to protect and reinforce the splice point where two fiber optic cables are joined together. The sleeve is typically made of a heat-shrinkable material, which is designed to shrink and conform to the shape of the fiber optic cables when heat is applied.

When two optical Fibers undergo fusion splicing, the splice sleeve protects the exposed Fiber and the spliced joint after the splicing process has been completed. Generally, Fiber splice protective sleeves are made of cross-linked polyolefin.
